SCALP MICRO PIGMENTATION INFORMATION
The key principle of Scalp Micro Pigmentation (SMP) is to closely replication the natural hair follicle.
With balding clients, to produce a natural integration, the surrounding hair will need to be shaved so that the SMP will appear the same as the existing hair. SMP application will be focused on the hairless area(s) and blended into the existing hair using the natural hair density as a guide.
Clients with thinning hair that only want the illusion of density do not need to shave their existing hair.
Surgical scars generally do not need the head to be shaved for the treatment to be effective as long as the style worn is long enough to disguise the treated area. If the client wears a shorter hairstyle, we suggest shaving the area being treated.
PRE-CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Oily Skin will need to be cleansed and stable before treatment to permit even and stable ink retention.
Dry Skin will need to be nourished and moisturized prior to the treatment day to allow better pigment acceptance. If your skin is very dry, red, itchy with large flaky scales, then it is possible you may have a form of Seborrhoea Dermatitis. This is a relatively common skin condition that looks similar to psoriasis, eczema, dandruff, or an allergic reaction. On infants, this is called cradle cap. It is a chronic, recurring, and typically mild dermatitis. Consult a dermatologist, or an alternative medical skin specialist, to have this treated and healthy skin restored prior to scheduling your Scalp Micro Pigmentation treatment.
